Brass dial shelf clock, ca. 1780.

Mahogany shelf clock with a molded cornice, a flat top, and a brass urn-and-spire finial on a fluted plinth, flanked by solid shaped frets. Top section with rectangular sidelights, scrolled skirt, and a rectangular case door with glazed triangular spandrels, and a glazed bell-shaped opening outlined by narrow pierced fretwork. Bottom section with cove molding at the top, applied molded decoration at the top, a molded base, and supported on brass feet. Circular engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, and engraved seconds dial, and the inscription "Simon Willard No 2." Thirty hour movement.
